Transcending the Physical Form

Photography by Francesco Sambati

Observing these “magical” Polaroids, the viewer is drawn into an intimate space that transcends the physical form, captivated by an elusive presence.

Francesco Sambati presents a vision of womanhood—femininity, delicacy, sensuality, independence, dignity, and depth; qualities that seem to reflect his own inner world, reinterpreted through photography.

His work searches for an ideal figure, one that photography preserves and protects from outside influences. The Polaroids create a separate world, a space for muses, the Goddess, and the Sacred Feminine.

These images become suspended moments, where tranquility and beauty dominate. They are small, self-contained worlds, fragments of will and desire, yet expansive in their ability to draw the viewer in.

For Sambati, photography is not just about capturing reality but about shaping and preserving a vision. It becomes a way to externalize personal desires and dreams, to stage and portray an ideal, and to represent it as precisely and faithfully as possible.
