Sara Paone

Young talented collage artist that sees the puzzle in everything and love putting things together, just like she did for Impeached’s birth edition piece about Fake News

What’s your backstory and what are you doing in life right now?

I graduated two years ago in Communication and Disciplines of Arts, Music and Drama and right now I’m studying Graphic Design at the Fine Arts Academy.

How long have you been doing art?

I started doing art two years ago, after the first Covid-19 lockdown.

How would you describe your style?

Specifically I create surrealistic and minimal collages and posters, for that I take inspiration from dada and abstract movements.

Favorite artform/s that you partake in.

Collage, Surrealism

Favorite food-drink combo for when you’re down in the dumps.

Fries, pizza and some wine.

What rituals get you in a creative mood?

I usually listen to music to take inspiration, then all the ideas come to my mind and I try to bring them to life.

What does your creative process look like?

I draw the ideas I have on my sketchbook, then I look for the material (such as portraits, nature elements, objects etc.) that could be good for me and, always listening to music, I start creating.

How do you get over a creative block?

In that moment I realized that it is important to take a break and check things out. I go out for a walk and look everything around me.

What do you struggle with as an artist?

I fight with the fear of not being enough and not being able to convey what I want.

Name one big accomplishment  from your life.

My graduation day was the very big milestone of my life.

If money was no object, how would you spend your time on this earth?

I would travel all around the world to discover everything about the other cultures and arts.
