Research Fellowship in Social Design
The Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME) Social Design Hub is offering a Research Fellowship in Social Design with a focus on the intersection of ecology and social issues in design. They are seeking an ambitious early- to mid-career researcher with a passion for interdisciplinary research and development in the areas of ecological and social design. The fellowship is planned to last between 18-24 months, providing financial and operational support to the selected fellow.
The research project should be interdisciplinary, emphasizing the candidate’s expertise in social design and social innovation. There are two specific focus areas for project proposals:
1. Equity: Exploring ways to promote well-being for vulnerable individuals and other species while addressing the complex challenges of culture and the economy.
2. Democratic innovation and just climate transitions: Investigating how participatory and intersectional approaches can support communities in just climate transitions.
Applicants must hold a PhD degree or be at the last phase of the PhD process, demonstrate a successful academic publication record, have previous experience in social design, eco-design, or related fields-based practice research, and be willing to relocate to and be primarily based in Budapest for the duration of the program.
The submission requirements include a detailed CV with a publication record, an outline of the research project (maximum 1500 words), a cover letter, and proof of the highest level of degree and ongoing PhD or equivalent degree.
The research fellowship offers a unique opportunity for researchers interested in exploring the connection between ecology and social issues and contributing to sustainable lifestyles and social resilience through design and participatory processes.
